Dr. Geneviève Richer obtained her medical degree from Université de Montréal and has a long history of involvement with Veterans. After working in the Emergency Room and in specialized medicine in acute care, she went on to serve as Medical Director of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for 15 years.
Dr. Richer is currently Chief of Medical Services at Ste. Anne’s Hospital, a position she has held since 2016. She has a deep knowledge of the reality Veterans face, including those living with post-traumatic stress disorders and chronic pain. Throughout her career, Dr. Richer has been deployed on several occasions as medical chief of delegations of Canadian Veterans at commemorative ceremonies in Europe. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is a very active member of her professional association, and also volunteers in education-related activities in her community. Dr. Richer currently sits on two other Boards of Directors related to service to Veterans and has recently been appointed part-time coroner by the provincial Cabinet.
